Artist Statement for Project 1: I used this project as an opportunity to depict how I feel when I'm overthinking. The "self" is an abstract, low-polygonal version of me turning blue. When I'm anxious I hold my breathe and become really self conscience of how loud I'm breathing. The self stretches and contorts as the loss of air doesn't help calm my anxiety. The "environment" is me about to swallow the self whole. Since, I can't get rid of the anxious side of me, I'll take a deep breathe, swallow my fears, and get through the day.
